Amy was born in the suburbs of New Jersey and raised by Italian immigrant parents. Her first language
was Italian and her first love was music. At the age of five, she began taking piano lessons followed
by voice, dance and acting. By the age of 16, she had written her first classical piece, and by the
time she went to college, she had appeared in numerous musicals.
In addition to the performing arts, Amy always had a strong interest in business and economics. So
immediately after college, Amy earned her Masters in International Management through a business
program that took her to Rome, Italy. With dual citizenship, she was able to work as a freelance
journalist for a business magazine in Rome while she continued to write music and perform whenever
possible.
When Amy got back to the States, she worked as a Marketing Manager for a music publishing firm in
New York. This satisfied her interest in music but not acting. It wasn’t until she moved to Los
Angeles that she realized her acting had taken a back seat to everything else. She immediately
began taking acting classes again while reading plays and perfecting her diction. She held flexible
jobs that enabled her to audition, and quickly landed an agent and SAG status.
After appearing on several commercials and TV shows in LA, Amy returned to New York City where she
studied Meisner and other acting techniques. She earned her Equity card working regularly on the
stage and filled her “down time” with appearances on QVC as a co-host.
Amy believes one of her greatest accomplishments in this industry is having been able to stay
grounded. “It’s very easy to get lost in this business. You get so caught up in trying to
‘make it’ that you lose sight of everything else. The goal is to enjoy the ride and never
forget who you are.”
